Children of Celebrities are announcing that the band's beloved and adored bass player, Kevin "Putz" Paetz is eschewing the band to accept an offer to play bass for the Rolling Stones on the Stones upcoming 50th Anniversary World Tour.

British trade publication, Mojo, reported that when he was asked about his departure from COC, Paetz stated, "I love the Children but Mick and Keith are paying in Euros!"  Mojo also reported that Paetz denied categorically that his departure from COC had anything to do with rumours that he is moving to Edmonton, Alberta to accept a lucrative position in the financial services industry.  "Not true," Paetz is reported to have said, "I make tens of dollars annually playing with the Children. Only a putz would put that cash cow out to pasture."

What is to become of our heroes now?  Is this the end of the road for the band that Victoria's Monday Magazine recently called "local roots icons"?  Is the book about to close on Children of Celebrities or are there more chapters yet to be written in the ongoing public melodrama of this iconic band? Could this be the COC swan song? Is it curtains for the Children? Or is it a new beginning? A rebirth? A second childhood? And what will become of the infamous band house of sin where "pizza flows like a Tuscan river"?  Is the river of pizza about to run dry? And, more to the point, how long does it take a monkey with a wooden leg to kick all the seeds out of a dill pickle?

The answers to these and other questions yet to be asked will be revealed when the Children perform, live, on stage at the "He Ain't No Putz" Farewell Performance...
